Andrew Automotive Group and the 11th Annual Backpack Buddies Program
Students at Clark Elementary School in Milwaukee received backpacks filled with school supplies from Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Sendik’s Food Markets, and Andrew Automotive Group on Friday, September 11th. The backpacks were distributed to the children via the Eleventh Annual Backpack Buddies program. Staff from both Andrew Toyota Scion and Andrew Chevrolet handed out backpacks filled with school supplies to students in their gymnasium.
Of the 377,000 people served annually by Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, 124,000 are children. At Andrew Automotive Group, we know that quality education for all children is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty in our communities. We are committed to helping ensure children go to school ready to learn. That means making sure they have healthy food to eat, of course, but it also means ensuring they have the proper tools needed to learn. The sale of plush buddies at Balistreri owned and operated Sendik’s stores as well as donations from Andrew Automotive Group made this backpack distribution possible. Lifelong learning starts with a strong foundation in elementary school. We hope these backpacks will give children the tools to help build a strong educational foundation for a successful school year. We are proud to be a part of such an important program in the Milwaukee Community.
